Wrist hinge

Wrist hinge

11/9/07 6:56 PM
Here's a drill that can help you develop a better feel for when and how your wrists should hinge during the swing:

Assume your address position.

Hinge your wrists so the club moves at an angle in line with your trail arm.

Elevate your arms until your hands are shoulder high. (The club will be pointing over your trail shoulder and your arms will have made their backswing motion.)

Now practice this from the address position. (This is the arm motion that you will blend with your body turn.)

The hinging of your wrists will happen as your arms elevate and your trail elbow folds.
